ACC MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

The Upper Valley Humane Society (UVHS) seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and energetic  person to fill our ACC Management Support (ACCMS) position

Primary responsibilities are to update Animal Care Center data entry backlog, and administratively support the Animal Care Center Manager and Assistant Manager.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and data entry experience. FileMaker Pro experience preferred. Candidates must be experienced with Microsoft Office applications. 

This is a temporary, part-time, hourly position: 15 Hours per week (flexible) for no more then 6 months.

ANIMAL CARE CENTER MANAGER

The Upper Valley Humane Society (UVHS) seeks a personable, organized, detail oriented person to join our team as the Animal Care Center Manager and help further our mission to create a more humane community. 

Primary General Responsibilities:

  • Work with UVHS’s Senior Management team and President & CEO to maintain, guide, and develop the organization.
  • Be an excellent ambassador for the organization on-site, with the community and partners, and at events.
  • Lead a 10-15 member team of animal care and administrative staff across Animal Care, Medical Care, Behavior and Training, and Customer Care.
  • Manage Animal Care Center volunteers and manage the animal care department volunteer program.
  • Advance the Animal Care Center and UVHS in continuous improvement to best serve community needs.

Primary Shelter (Animal Care Center) Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage protocols, processes and procedures including adoptions, surrenders, animal care, behavior evaluations and management, and medical care.
  • Manage Animal Care Center operations including perform weekly reconciliations and deposits; oversee databases, compile and report statistics; manage and facilitate supplies and supply ordering; manage facilities; create and maintain $300k+ Animal Care Center budget; maintain, modify, and enforce Animal Care Center policies and procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate and monitor level and flow of animals through the Animal Care Center.
  • Work with veterinary service providers to ensure UVHS is using best practices for medical care, stress control, and disease control.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly spay/neuter clinics.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with municipalities including negotiating annual service contracts.
  • Work with local police departments and other humane organizations to investigate and report cruelty complaints.

The ideal candidate is a person with excellent interpersonal and time management skills, who is highly organized and detail oriented and likes working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ability to juggle multiple demands and work collaboratively is critical.  Candidates must have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency with FileMaker database software preferred. Management, operations, and animal shelter experience are required. Euthanasia by injection certification preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

This is a full-time, salaried, senior management position reporting to UVHS’s Presient & CEO. On-site housing is available.

ANIMAL CARE TECHNICIAN

The Upper Valley Humane Society (UVHS) seeks 2 organized, detail-oriented, and energetic people to fill our Animal Care Technician positions.

Primary responsibilities include cleaning and caring for the general needs and enrichment of the animals. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, be on their feet for prolonged periods, be able to consistently lift 50 pounds, and be able to perform consistent repetitive movements. Must have excellent communication skills.

These are a part time hourly positions. No experience necessary.

CUSTOMER CARE

The Upper Valley Humane Society (UVHS) seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and energetic  person to fill our Customer Care position.

Primary responsibilities are to answer the Animal Care Center’s main phone line and triage calls; greet and assist community members with adoptions, surrenders, spay/neuter clinic, etc.; and to help maintain Animal Care Center databases.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and people skills and have the ability to juggle multiple demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Candidates must be experienced with Microsoft Office applications.

PART TIME DOG TRAINER

The Upper Valley Humane Society Training Center is looking for a part time dog trainer to teach basic skills classes and/or Rally-O or other specialty classes using positive reinforcement methods. Working one weekend day is a must.
