For more than 5 years, UVHS has maintained a live release rate of 93% or better.
UVHS is at the forefront of a growing movement in animal welfare focused on serving our communities through care and resources for companion animals and their families. UVHS provides programs and services that reduce suffering, support wellness, and foster compassion. In addition to a busy adoption center, UVHS offers many programs to help keep pets in their homes and out of the shelter, including a pet food pantry, a mobile pantry program to serve pets in remote areas of New Hampshire and Vermont, emergency boarding for the pets of people in crises, reduced-cost spay/neuter for the community, and low-cost rabies vaccination clinics.
Fundraising is UVHS’ primary source of revenue. 90% of our revenue is donated by members of our community. Just 10% of revenue is from adoptions and other fees for services.
